E-Commerce Product Images: Keep the Subject Clear and the Selling Points Visible

Organize prompts around product identity, camera angles, materials, and background constraints to avoid generating images that look appealing but do not match the real product.

Distinguish hero images from lifestyle scenes first

Hero images emphasize authentic structure, complete silhouettes, and clean backgrounds; lifestyle scenes emphasize usage contexts. Determine the purpose before selecting an example to avoid substituting a clear product display with a complex narrative poster.

Provide unchanging product features

List colors, proportions, packaging text, quantities, and components. If the model supports reference images, provide clear, authorized photos of the actual product and specify which features must be maintained. Text descriptions alone cannot guarantee that the model will accurately preserve brand identity or product structure.

An adjustable description framework

Create a [purpose] image for [product]. The subject is placed at [position], using a [camera angle], with a background of [environment], and lighting that is [direction and softness]. Preserve [unchangeable structure], with an aspect ratio of [aspect ratio].

Iterate in three steps

  1. Verify the product shape and quantity against a simple background first.
  2. Add the scene, props, and lighting after confirming the structure.
  3. Add layout text last and proofread word by word; complete in typography tools if necessary.

Pre-publish checklist

Do not let generated images imply that the product includes accessories, specifications, or effects that do not actually exist. Check that labels, volume, and packaging match the physical product, and confirm usage rights for all assets.
